About Artist

Joanna Sierko-Filipowska

Joanna Sierko-Filipowska - a Polish painter.

In 1985, she graduated with honors from the Department of Graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, under the supervision of Professor Halina Chrostowska, and received an annex to her diploma in painting under Professor Jerzy Tchórzewski. In 1986, she was awarded a creative scholarship by the Minister of Culture and Arts. The artist practices both figurative and abstract painting. Her paintings are romantic, and subtle, with a distinctive color palette.

Painting is my passion that has been constantly developing and evolving since childhood.

The world of plants and animals has always fascinated me and is a central theme in my works.

I choose details that are unique and personal to me - feathers, butterflies, grenades - objects that captivate me with their beauty.

Turquoise shoes bought in Florence, and Indian sandals brought from Asia, have a special meaning to me.

They are the gateway to my imagination where an infinite amount of inspiration awaits, creating my unique world.

Symbols that reflect my personal, sometimes emotionally challenging experiences, appear in my works.

Painting is a way for me to express myself and my feelings.

I notice that my paintings often provoke reflection and discussion, which brings me immense joy.

Today, I paint only what truly moves me, without fear of any topic.

Although my works are diverse, someone who knows me will always be able to recognize my creative soul within them.

It is the entirety of my artistic self that I strive to convey through painting"
